Ballet Folkiorico Huichol - the most talented ballet folklorico from the Mexican state of Durango. Grupo Huichol has gained international prominence over the past several years and is returning to Houston by popular demand.

Abelardo Rodriguez - a poet and political science student from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), Rodriguez will give a critical analysis of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and its implications for the Mexican people. Rodriguez is a student intern under internationally acclaimed scholar Dr. Jorge Casteneda, one of Mexico's most prominent political analysts.

Juan Teleda - a musicologist from the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio, Tejeda will give a workshop on the history and evolution of Chicano music. Tejeda provides insight into the music of pre-Columbian Mexico and the historical evolution of conjunto music in Texas. Tejeda's presentation includes playing many of the instruments he discusses.

Enrique Arciniega Campos - an artist from Houston, Campos will present a sample of his work from the last several years. A native of Houston, Campos has exhibited his work in a number of museums including Houston's Museum of Fine Arts.

Dr. Rosalinda Fregoso - a University of California at Davis professor of communications who has also taught at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Dr. Fregoso will speak about the state of the motion picture industry and its impact on Latinos in the United States. Dr. Fregoso's book on the Mexican American community and the media will be published this fall by the University of Minnesota Press. Dr. Fregoso is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Teatro Bilingue De Houston - Houston's longest active bilingual theatrical company will perform Luis Valdez' satirical play "Los Vendidos" which focuses on stereotypes of the Chicano community.

Mariachi Los Gallitos - recognized as one of the best mariachi groups in the US, Los Gallitos will perform selected songs form their extensive repertoire. They were chosen the best mariachi group in Texas in 1992.
